The Deal He Turned Down

It was in the days of this band that he got the much talked about mind-blowing offer, a deal that would take him out of church but make him lots of money. He took the deal to his pastor and shockingly the pastor kept the letter and never looked at it.

In the words of Moses Bliss, "My pastor said he saw my music changing the lives of people globally." The story goes that his pastor discarded the offer letter and encouraged him to keep ministering in the church. In fact, the man of God tried to alleviate some of Bliss’ pressing needs just to keep him from being distracted by the cash outside.

Some other friend proceeded to follow the deal, but Moses Bliss obeyed the pastor and stayed back. He has shared often how he sold pumpkin leaves for his mom to make ends meet. He also shares that he had to soak himself in prayers, study of the word, fasting, and service to God with diligence and consistency to receive songs from God, the songs he is now known for.

Achievements

This young musician has since gone on to rake in awards, record some top songs, and become passionately renowned in Africa’s music landscape. He recently featured in a Deitrick Haddon attempt at gospel Afro, to underscore how renowned Bliss has become.

He came out with songs like “Bigger Everyday”, “Too Faithful”, “Daddy Wey Dey Pamper”, and “Miracle”, and these all made it into popular Christian culture wherever Nigerians are, resonating especially with West African youths everywhere.

Courtesy of his roots in Christ Embassy, under Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, he has shared platforms with Benny Hinn, Pastor Chris, Sinach to mention but a few.

In 2020, Pastor Chris awarded him a gift of $100,000 for his music performance in the year's music event at the church.

Days of Determination

But there were days of discouragement, embarrassment, rejection, delay, and frustration. But according to him, he adopted a lesson he took from his spiritual father, Rev. Chris, which was to never stop speaking forth what you want to see. Moses says he used to go out to isolated areas in the FCT to just speak to himself. He met the days of tough times with determination and tenacity.

Belief in self and belief in God meant he eventually pulled through.

Going global, Featuring with Deitrick Haddon

Today, he is known for giving out cars to his friends and mentees, living in an upscale Abuja edifice, hosting his own concert in the United Kingdom, making good music, breaking through to more success at the Experience, and remaining humble.

Already, he has founded a music organization and signed a number of emerging musicians in the gospel genre. We can only expect more good news from the expression of Moses Bliss.
